iPhone 6 & iOS 8 and Wifi problems

In my house we have migrated to iOS 8, some via upgrades to older devices and some via brand new purchase of iPhone 6.

Overall the upgrades were ok but there are still some fluky behavior on the older devices.

But the biggest issue is that my wifi router started to get stuck. When it happened for the first time, i thought that this is no biggie. Just restart the router and get back to business. It helped for few hours but then happened again. And again. And Again…

From what i can tell, the wifi router is crashing due to something in iOS 8. The next step was to search the internet for some answers.

After a quick search it appears that I am not alone on this. I found “Having Wi-Fi problems with iOS8?” as a good tutorial. It seems to at least reduce the rate of the issues.

Next step is to search for new firmware for the router. I am using Linksys EA 6900.

Update: As of October 14th, there is no update to the router firmware.
